Condoleeza Rice has said that she will NOT be a candidate for President on the Republican ticket- rather she will return to academia when her term as Secretary of State is up.
THE MINISTRY OF STRATEGERY would like to extend a hearty thank you and thank heaven upon this news. Clearly the reason Condi dropped was the firestorm created after her comment about being “mildly pro-choice” to the Washington Times interview team. 2008 is not a year for schism, and if the Republican party is going to keep this religious “horizontal unity” (a blog on this coming soon, its a term from an old Weekly Standard and CRISIS Magazine) thing going, then we cannot put a pro-abortion candidate on the ticket. Never the less, Condi is doing good stuff for the President and we commend her for that work in international affairs.
