The GOP3.com/MURepublicans.com Marquette nickname straw poll currently has 24 of 62 votes going to the Hilltoppers with the Golden Eagles being the next most popular nickname with only 13 votes. Although this is a relatively small sample, I am hoping it is at least slightly representative of the true results due to my personal feelings on the new Marquette nickname.

On another note, The Warrior Blog has found an interesting posting on Ebay, it seems you can buy someone’s vote in the nickname election if you are not a student or alumni, or if you feel the need to further influence the election with an additional vote.
Of course you could always build a new Valley Fields on your property for Marquette and maybe they would allow the Warriors to be an option. Hey, it worked for the indians who own the Potowatami Casino when they did it to get rid of the Warrior nickname in the first place.
