Republicans often like to make hay at Jim Doyle’s “phony” or “fuzzy” math. Well, here’s some straight-up math that ought to make anyone wrinkle their nose:
Press release from the Governor’s Office today, titled “Gov. Doyle: State Ends Fiscal Year in the Black“:
Governor Jim Doyle today announced that the State of Wisconsin will finish the 2006 fiscal year in the black with a positive balance of $12 million. This is the third consecutive year the state has ended in the black – continuing a remarkable turnaround from record deficit spending in prior administrations.
Press release yesterday titled “Potawatomi Transfer $24 Million to the State of Wisconsin“:
The Forest County Potawatomi Community transferred $24 million to the State of Wisconsin today to fulfill their 2006 revenue sharing commitment. … [S]aid Potawatomi Chairman Harold ‘Gus’ Frank, “The Tribe’s revenue sharing will help the state fund vital services like education, health care and public safety.”
$12 million in the black today, $24 million cash infusion yesterday -
Do the Math.
P.S. Dr. McAdams has the latest from the sad, sorry files of Dr. Dan Maguire, this time a pamphlet on why Catholics should support gay marriage that was mailed to the entire US Congress.
P.P.S. Congratulations to Wisconsinite Edmund C. Moy on his appointment as Director of the U.S. Mint. Mr. Moy was formerly Special Assistant to the President for Presidential Personnel. I once had the opportunity to hear Mr. Moy speak at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield on “Faith and the West Wing.” It was a fine address, and for what it’s worth GOP3 wishes him the very best in his new position.Â

Brandon….you need to remind the rest of your authors that this is a political blog….not a blog about ATM’s or basketball players. I enjoy your political posts, but the rest are not interesting. What happened to the old GOP3? Keep up the good work Brandon.
