A Prius?

Anyone looking for a good laugh and a nice jab at Hollywood liberalism, TMZ.com (courtesy of Drudge) has just the thing. Just a little insight into the world of Celebrity hypocrisy…

“Hybrid cars are all the rage in Hollywood. Celebrities drive them like they’re a badge of honor. You save a few gallons of gas, you save the planet. Right? Well, not when you hop on a private jet and burn enough fuel to propel NASCAR through 2050.”

Slamming celebs from Julia Roberts to Brad Pitt, the article gives a quick and humorous look into the true life of the Hollywood celeb., and poses the important question: why drive a Prius when you insist on private jets for your long distance travel? Even first-class commercial air travel isn’t good enough?

I don’t know what it is with the whole Prius thing anyways, but Al Gore also jumped on the bandwagon, showing up in a Prius for a rally at Berkeley. As reported by MercuryNews.com…

““I’m here to change peoples’ minds on the climate crisis and to support Prop 87,” Gore called to a group of reporters after he emerged from the “100 miles per gallon” Toyota Prius that brought him to a noontime rally in a sun-drenched park behind Berkeley’s City Hall.”

But, the Prius was not the only car in the motorcade…

“His motorcade also included three motorcycles, two limousines and a Dodge Ram 1500 light duty truck.”

Yeah, I bet that Dodge truck really goes easy on the gasoline, and why bring one limo, when two will use twice the gas? At least that Prius is saving the world from the onslaught of global warming… Good work Al.

    It’s a good point. But the rich and famous do make things popular for the rest of us. Now, since we all can’t afford private jets, maybe, just maybe, Pitt, Dicaprio, et. al. will make the hybrid vehicle the new skinny jeans or leather Chanel ski suit–even if they don’t necessarily adhere to the entire environmentalist ethos. And why rail on Pitt? He did adopt foreign babies.

    But it is still a good point. BTW, when are you getting your personal page privileges back?

    I’d love to see a Lucas Vebber personal page and a better picture. You’re goofy looking, but not that goofy looking.
