As a follow up to my recent post about monetary support of The Warrior: Marquette University’s Independent News Source, here is the letter from WTMJ’s Jeff Wagner that accompanied the fund appeal. Again, if you are able to make a tax deductable donation you can do so by clicking here.

Dear Gop3.com Readers,

Noted columnist George Will is fond of saying that while most people believe that Barry Goldwater lost his bid for the presidency in 1964, he actually won. Will says that it just took 16 years to count the votes.

What George Will means is that the seeds of the modern conservative movement that swept Ronald Reagan into office in 1980 were planted during the 1964 Goldwater campaign. In many cases, it was the college students who campaigned for Goldwater who went on to become the architects of the “Reagan Revolution.”

On college campuses today, great attention is paid to promoting almost every kind of diversity imaginable. On type of diversity that doesn’t get enough emphasis however is diversity of opinion – especially when that opinion reflects conservative political thought.

Since its inception, The Warrior has done an outstanding job of providing an effective alternative voice for students at Marquette University. With a bi-weekly publication schedule, a circulation exceeding 4000 and a staff of over 40, The Warrior has been a true success story.

In order to keep the momentum going, it’s important that the community at large support The Warrior. In this spirit, I invite everyone to join me in making a donation during the current fundraising campaign.

Marquette University is helping groom our future leaders. By contributing to The Warrior, we can help assure that some of those leaders will be able to continue to foster the exchange of ideas that is so crucial to a free society.

Please accept my best wishes for continued success.

Very truly yours,
Jeff Wagner
