Mitt Romney: Republican, Governor, Venture Capitalist, Olympic Savior… and he even turned around Massachusetts.
That’s the pitch for the new campaign ads that will premier tomorrow in the key voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Michigan and Florida
“This is not a time for more talk and dithering in Washington. It’s a time for action,” says the former governor at the end of a 60 second spot in which he is also described as the “business legend” who “rescued the Olympics” and “turned around a Democratic state.”
Romney isn’t technically the first person to start airing ads. Duncan Hunter has been running ads in South and North Carolina and South Dakota, but he’s considered a long shot, whereas Romney is widely considered a serious contender.
Recent polls show Romney trailing the two high profile Republicans, Sen. John McCain and former New York mayor Rudi Giuliani.
Last 5 posts by JustinRomney has been aggressively raising money during the opening 45 days of his campaign, taking in $6.5 million at his first event on Jan. 9 and adding more than $2.4 million since — in part to help him buy TV ads.
“These ads are aimed at telling interested voters exactly who Mitt Romney is and why he is the right choice as our next president,” Romney spokesman Kevin Madden said in an e-mail. “Our goal was to show Governor Romney unplugged and get people as close to being on the campaign trail with him as you can get.”

Any of them on YouTube yet?
After what McCain said about Rumsfield and Iraq this week… I would guess Romney will rise in the polls.
Geez-Louise. I kind of hate political commericals (except the mock ones on SNL) and I am glad I will be out of the country until mid-2008.
I think I am going to consider Romney under advisement.
