Where did this all come from?

I will, without a second thought, vote for Fred Dalton Thompson to be our next president. He has the character, moral integrity & the solid leadership skills necessary to be one of the most effective presidents in quite some time. I’ve followed him for just about 12 years now, & I cannot find a serious flaw which plagues the rest of the “potential” candidates. Not only am I completely behind him, but I can safely say that 90% of my unit (quite a few hundred) have stated that they will most assuredly vote for him…hands down. This is for you Fred…and your army of supporters; “Statesmen…may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand‗John Adams

CelticKnight , I LOVE YOU!!! awesome blog!! THank you for quoting J.A. I will definitely look into Fred Thompson.

I am completely behind Fred Thompson to be the next President!!! He is the best man for job. He has all the character to be President. Matter of fact, I am going to create Fred Thompson for President shirts in a few designs at http://www.zazzle.com/jenniekurono* to get excitement and support up for the man.

As someone who personally knew and respected Ronald Reagan, I sincerely hope that Sen. Fred Thompson will accept the mantle and represent all of us to want to believe again. From the state of Indiana, I wholehearted support the candadacy of Sen. Fred Thompson. I believe Mr. Thompson to represent those moral and patriotic values that were so much a part of who we all were under President Reagan. Sen. Thompson can and must articulate those ideals that most Americans believe and live each day. Sen. Thompson is a man of character and interity. Someone to lead and bring this nation together once again. I sincerely hope that Sen. Thompson will accept this call to once again serve a grateful nation.

After 18 years of Bush, Clinton, Bush, (Clinton?) enough is enough. Let’s bring back some common sense . I feel like I am being led by Space-shots and Bumblers; “Beam me up, Scotty.” I am totally convinced that FRED D. THOMPSON is the right person to be our next president. Check out the website; http://www.draftfredthompson.com and learn about the Man. Good luck to us all!

Why settle for a candidate with “some” conservative views when we can have the real thing - Fred Thompson. He has the ability to energize the base and also pull in marginal voters as President Reagan did in two landslide victories.
A Fred Thompson campaign would also bring in additional voters to win back the House and Senate.
March 27th, 2007 at 6:20 am
Finally there is someone, Fred Thompson, I can support. Rudy, Romney McCain? Not a chance. They will not get my support.
March 27th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
When I first heard about Fred Thompson being urged to run, I thought, WOW! Why didn’t we think of him before? GOP voters have long starved for a respectable candidate with Reagan-like character, charisma, and values. McCain? Guiliani? Romney? The rest? no-no-no-no. Thompson? YES!!! It feels great to be a Republican, again.

The door is wide open! America needs you! Go for it.

The only potential Republican candidate out there that stands a chance of winning is Fred D. Thompson. We may have a chance yet!

Fred Thompson is a man I would be PROUD to vote for—the others, I would have to hold my nose but can’t imagine a Hillary presedency.

I like Fred because he can take or leave the politics, I think he is a man who is only seeking the position because he feels the peoples’ support.
April 2nd, 2007 at 3:57 pm
Fred D. Thompson for President.
It doesn’t really require any discussion, it simply must happen!!
God speed, Mr. Thompson.
April 2nd, 2007 at 4:13 pm
I am one of the silent majority. I have never been excited about a political candidate enough to devote my time to get them elected. If Fred Thompson decides to run, I will work, for the first time in my life to ensure he wins the presidency.
April 2nd, 2007 at 4:15 pm
I am hoping, beyond hope that the best man for the job enters the presidential race, Mr. Fred Dalton Thompson. I believe America needs him now and he is the only Republican I will vote for. Please, Fred do not make me pick a democrat!
April 2nd, 2007 at 4:37 pm
If you support Fred Thompson… I don’t think you’d ever vote for a Democrat.
April 2nd, 2007 at 7:10 pm
I was depressed about the ‘08 prospects until Fred Thompson’s name was put forth. Now I’m fired up!!! He just MUST run!! I would actually “pound the pavement” for that man. We need him!!
April 2nd, 2007 at 11:38 pm
Fred Thompson is the right man, at the right time, in fact he’s “Just Right” as I wrote in an article for my blog @ http://bednarzblogsphere.blogspot.com/ . Go to the bottom page for the posting, or go to the archive for the March 18th article. I think the article pretty well sum’s up how important his candidacy is for our party, and nations future. Okay, I read this a few months back as “speculation” that Fred Thompson would make a good conservative candidate. I thought “cool,” he’s not part of the current GOP power structure, so that’s a plus already… And then I read further that he’s more of a “true” conservative. Yeah, he NEEDS to run.
Conservatives need a candidate we can vote for without holding our nose. It’s not enough to “not be Hillary.” That “position” makes us no better than the dems and the haters who vowed “anyone but Bush.” We need someone people can SUPPORT, not just shrug and vote for because “he’s not a democrat.”
You have to inspire people to earn their support, and there is currently a gaping lack of inspiration on the Right…
Hope you run Mr. Thompson. You’ve got my vote.

We’ve ALL wished for a President like I know Senator Fred would be. Anybody who has seen him in his many movie or television roles can tell he has a commanding presence. (From THFRO: “The Russians don’t take a dump without a plan!”) The thing about Fred Thompson, however, is that he was a lawyer FIRST, working on TN Senator Howard Baker’s staff. I believe it was his PRESENCE there that led to his Hollywood roles. That means he is not “just some actor” who went into politics, rather the other way around.
Yes, we LOVED Ronald Reagan, but God gave this world only ONE of him. Senator Thompson has the rare integrity that will show us there is only ONE Fred Thompson!!
My brother, my Dad, and myself are excited about the possibility that he might run. It does remind us of what the 1976 election year was like, when we COULD have had a Reagan, but chose a Ford instead, and the nation got stuck with a Carter for four years.
April 7th, 2007 at 3:01 pm
Mr. Thompson has an excellent shot to get my vote and $ support. I qiut giving money to the G.O.P., they don’t have any backbone anymore. If Thompson get’s in this thing, it would be exactly what folks like myself need!
April 8th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
Fred Thompson is the one shot we have to unite the GOP. I firmly believe that Sen. Thompson’s entry into the primary would quickly seperate the top 3 +/- from the rest of the pact. We’re still going to have a primary, but Sen. Thompson should easily brand himself as the true conservative. GOP competition will fall away, leaving the media to watch the Dems hack up their base in deciding between Clinton and Obama. By the time mid-08 roles around, Thompson for President should be unstopable.
April 9th, 2007 at 7:34 am
FRED DALTON THOMPSON FOR PRESIDENT
If not now…..when?
When the time comes, all of us who are asking this fine man to do this very serious thing must stand with him, not only with our votes, but also with our time and of course $. The troops are massing around the country awaiting your decision sir.
April 10th, 2007 at 2:12 pm
I too am proud to be a supportr of Sen. Fred Thompson.
It has been a long long time since I’ve been excited by a candidate for President. I’m tired of holding my nose and voting for the lesser of evils!
Sen, Thompson is a straight-shooter answering a direct question with a direct answer. No song, no dance, no explanations, and no apologies. He is clearly a man of principle, not politics.
He is decisive, in the way that only a man of great self-confidence can be. Self-confidence like that can only come from a strong moral character.
We need that kind of leadership to restore and to save and preserve our great Republic.
April 11th, 2007 at 7:59 am
I am so excited about Fred Thompson, but I just read the headline on FNC that he has “indolent lymphoma.” I am so afraid this will ruin his chances of being elected. What can we do?!
April 11th, 2007 at 10:43 pm
Olivia…& everyone who’s inclined to help, come on over to http://www.draftfredthompson.com, there are SO many folks with many excellent ideas, thoughts & strategies on how to help Fred with his upcoming campaign. By the way…if Fred says he’s fine…he’s fine with me. By his statements today on Cavuto, that’s just more proof of his integrity. We can use all the Patriots that America has!
April 12th, 2007 at 1:34 am
After seeing him on Cavuto, I have NO worries whatsoever. He’s not worried, so why should we. He was fantastic. He’s got MY vote!
April 12th, 2007 at 7:46 am
We need a no-nonsense man like FDT……………. I will not vote for any other, even if he decides not to run…………what would be the point?
RUN FRED RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lisa Stepanski, NY
April 12th, 2007 at 6:15 pm
Right on, Lisa! What would be the point? America needs Fred!
RUN, FRED, RUN!!!!!!!
April 16th, 2007 at 10:28 pm
Another solid vote for Fred Thompson here! Before Mr. Thompson had expressed interest in running, I just assumed there would be nobody to vote for this time. I have hope again….
April 17th, 2007 at 3:37 pm
I will definately vote for Fred Dalton Thomson
April 17th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
I’m for restoring the Constitution. Only Ron Paul is acceptable to me.
April 19th, 2007 at 4:52 pm
I’m surprised to see so much support for Mr. Thompson… His voting record is so “anti-conservative” (compared to Rep. Ron Paul’s).
April 20th, 2007 at 8:21 am
If you want to save this country from turning into a dictatorship…and restore our freedom and liberty ( in case you haven’t noticed, it is disappearing) you need to read up on Ron Paul. He is the only one that can do it…..He is a real Constitutionalist……..
go into http://www.freedomtofascism.com and watch the video for free….you will be shocked at what you find out. Ron Paul is in that video, and says we are living in a POLICE state, and he is right Wake UP America!!!!!!
April 20th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Mr. Fred D. Thompson has seen it all, done it all; worked on the WATERGATE investigation, pulled duty in the Senate, has carried a very successful acting career, big and small screens, passed the Bar as a J.D. (no wonder he understands the scripts on L&O!).
The man is a conservative who has the common sense to AT LEAST LISTEN to a liberal; he may chop the libtard off at the knees in 30 seconds or less, but he DOES give the poor idiot a chance to hang himself! Too many conservatives will not, which just gives the libtards more ammunition to shoot at conservative values.
He is willing to compromise where compromise is NECESSARY, but not on basic values and morals.
He seems to respect individual privacy; he doesn’t LIKE abortion, nor does he seem to PERSONALLY approve gay marriage, but he appears to consider BOTH of them the business of the involved parties, NOT the business of ANY government - other than funding either one.
He supports the Second Amendment. PERIOD.
We MUST convince Mr. Fred D. Thompson to enter the race for President.
April 22nd, 2007 at 9:49 pm
What scares me is the possibility that Hillary or Obama could actually get elected. Guliani, Romney and McCain have so much negative baggage, especially some of their liberal views, that they would split the Republican Party. I am afraid that too many conservative Republicans and Democrats would just stay home rather than vote for one of them that it would give Hillary OR Obama a clear shot for the Presidency.
What we need is a true conservative with common sense and charisma. We need someone who would appeal to the entire Republican Party, to Independents and to those smart Democrats who can’t stand Hillary or Obama (and there are a fair number of these). Fred Thompson meets these requirements. He is well known from his TV and movie roles, he has a distinguished career in politics, starting with his assignment to the Watergate Committee and continuing in the senate, and he is the type of speaker who can ignite a crowd.
Let’s wake up and concentrate on what is really important–keeping Hillary OR Obama out of the White House. When you think about it, Fred Thompson offers the best chance of doing this.

Thank You

April 26th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
It’s agreed then! We will vote Fred into the presidency but, that’s not where our job will end…
He will speak to us and we must respond EN MASSE to our representatives and overwhelm their offices in support of Fred. As without it, the Lib’s will drool the same nonsense as they do today.
This will give him the power to regain the sanity our country has lost…and more.
Run, Fred, RUN!!
April 27th, 2007 at 1:09 am
Ron Paul is the only candidate with a 100% constitutional voting record and a 100% commitment to adhering strictly to the Constitution despite outside pressure.
If anybody was a true ‘conservative’ or ‘constitutionalist’, they would vote for Ron Paul.
April 29th, 2007 at 4:24 am
Yeah I agree. Fred Thompson would be a great running mate and Vice President to Ron Paul.
April 29th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
Ron Paul is our only hope to restore our republic.
Lets take our government back and once again restore the Constitution.
GO RON PAUL!!!
May 1st, 2007 at 2:58 pm
Ron Paul might be the conservative idealists’ choice for the 2008 Republican candidate, but idealists - by definition and history - rarely win. FDT has the charisma, integrity, national recognition, and conservative credentials needed to run, win the nomination, and win the 2008 election. And he has the credibility necessary to build the voter excitement and pull in the mega$$$$ needed to fund a presidential campaign.
God bless America, and Fred Thompson. Run, Fred, run!
May 1st, 2007 at 4:00 pm
Ron Paul is the only choice for President if you are really an American at heart not just in the wallet.
May 1st, 2007 at 4:12 pm
If Ron Paul is the conservative’s choice then it is he who should be elected not some second choice candidate because you are afraid he might not win. This is exactly the mentality that will keep the current greed brokers in power, fear. Break the bonds of fear that restrain you in the box of numb content, fly like an eagle as your Forefathers did and do what is right for everyone.
In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot. ~Mark Twain,
Ron Paul The wait is over!! 2008
May 2nd, 2007 at 12:40 pm
Fred Dalton Thompson will be the next president of the United
States. Fox interview last night solidified my thoughts on that
issue. Even Dick Morris’ negative critique of our Fred did not
dissuade me. Dick needs to rethink and revise his assessment
of FDT and the coming election. Unfortunately, he is seeing
our next president through Guiliani-jaundiced eyes.
Those of us Daltonites whose minds and hearts are settled
on FDT as our chosen leader know that the Tall and Tough Tennessean
will be the next President of the United States.
May God’s Hand of Protection be upon him to guide, strengthen,
and sustain him–now and throughout the electoral process, the coming
2008 election, and his entire presidency, beginning in 2009.
May 4th, 2007 at 2:20 am
The Neocons hate Ron Paul, check their blogs if you want a laugh. It’s funny that he’s winning the polls on pajamas media, even though they hate him!
For more Freedom, pick Paul. For even more Government, pick another.
May 4th, 2007 at 9:04 pm
Ron Paul! I’m done with voting for a lesser evil.
May 4th, 2007 at 9:44 pm
Clinton, Biden, Hagel, Edwards, etc would love to take their vote on the war back. The Republican batting order will live to regret their stand on it, mark my words.
Ron Paul has been up front with his principled opposition to it from day one.
Go Ron!
May 5th, 2007 at 1:46 am
To the Fred Thompson supporters. He sounds fairly good in sound bytes, but:
1. He advocates our current trade policy, including such agreements as NAFTA, CAFTA, OMAN and GATT. These are NOT free trade agreements. They are managed trade agreements that are designed to give preference to select international companies, in addition to setting up an international ruling body (WTO) over our own Congress. If you want to read more about this, go to http://www.mises.org and search for “free trade”. You will find numerous articles. A very good one is called “What is Free Trade?” The Mises Institute was one of President Reagan’s favorite organizations.
2. He speaks of our issue with illegal aliens. However, he received a C from Americans for Better Immigration.
3. He talks about controlling our borders. Yet, he is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations whose President, Richard Haas, advocates ceding American sovereignty to world governance. He is not the only CFR President to have done this. Furthermore, the CFR has a taskforce report that was created with Canada and Mexico called, “Building a North American Community” that speaks of building a border around the perimeter of NA, NOT between the countries, as the free flow of people between countries is encouraged with this plan. There is a link to this plan and other information in this regard, on Phyllis Schlafly’s website. http://www.eagleforum.org/topics/NAU/

I’ve been an advocate for 2 years now and I’m glad to see other people catching the fever. Ron Paul 2008! Hope for America!
May 5th, 2007 at 2:49 pm
ron paul all the way! ronpaul2008.com
May 5th, 2007 at 5:47 pm
We need strict constructionist politicians as well as strict constructionist judges! Ron Paul is the only option.
Fred Thompson is CFR to the bone. Giuliani is a police state advocate. Romney is slippery. McCain sponsored McCain/Feingold and has some really wacky foreign policy ideas. Newt is not truly conservative.
Ron Paul is the only one of these men who truly believes in limited government, and he has a consistent record for over 30 years of defending liberty.
May 5th, 2007 at 10:15 pm
Ron Paul is the choice that will restore our freedom, our constitution and our sovreignty. In my opinion no one else in the field comes close.
I’m fortunate to live in New Hampshire where, to some extent, the libertarian “Live Free or Die” spirit still lives on in the GOP. Ron Paul is the only candidate who I feel fits that ideology, and I really believe that our nation is at a crossroads.
Will it be more governement expansion, burdensome regulation, and oppression, or LIBERTY? You have the power to help restore the Republic and the constitution. Don’t just vote for Ron Paul, work to bring his message to more freedom loving Americans.
Oh yeah, Live Free or Die.
May 14th, 2007 at 4:27 pm
Ron Paul is a kook. Nothing more than background noise.
May 24th, 2007 at 2:03 am
Ron Paul is a modern day founding father. Name calling by those who are upset with his surge in momentum will do nothing to impede this sea change we are witnessing. Ron Paul 2008!
May 25th, 2007 at 9:14 pm
I have one question - who the hell is Ron Paul? Never heard of him outside this blog, nor have the unwashed masses lured to the polls with cigarettes and bribes by dumbacrats. Only Fred Thompson will galvanize Republicans and re-open their wallets (including mine). And his respectable career plus name/face recognition will pull in the rest, including despairing Dems who don’t care much for their own weak candidates. C’mon, Fred, RUN! (if Ron Paul is so great he should try to get on the Thompson ticket)
June 2nd, 2007 at 9:03 am
fred you are the last john wayne we got in this world
you have my vote!
now dowt in my mine you can get the job done up there on the bigg hill.

Fred is for the little man,
if i could only get my hands on one of those BIGG SIGNS Fred for President 08 SIGNS to put in my yard
i finally have something to look forward to
that being the man fred thomson our president of these here united states
June 2nd, 2007 at 2:12 pm
Just one thought. Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter. A sure winning ticket!
June 16th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
I respect Fred greatly for leaving private career like Reagan, Romney, etc. to serve the people. I have reservations about the wild Republican spending that occurred on his shift. How can a truly principled person watch the fox raid the hen house and not step forward and say enough is enough? That really bothers me. Also the vote for McCain-Feingold was bad for our country. Like Nafta, etc, these things really have to be long thought out or the law of unintended consequences strikes. I like Fred and will vote for him if he is our candidate, but I do not think him the strongest. Great actor, but we need the real thing. Newt has been a clarion voice, but has baggage.
August 15th, 2007 at 1:11 am
Fred Dalton Thompson. No contest. No question. Only person for the job.
September 26th, 2007 at 11:18 pm
lol Fred Thomspon? Ron Paul obviously! In 20 years of congress duty he has NEVER voted to raise taxes. EVER!
January 13th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Look out GOP! Fred Tompson is walking tall and carring a big stick!
Fred will be the next president.
