In a world filled with bands and pop icons who delight in railing against our President, conservatives and our nation, it’s refreshing to see a band that rocks to the right rather than pandering to the left. The Right Brothers are relatively new and have just released their first CD, No Apologies, on iTunes (or their store) and it is definitely going to be my first iTunes album purchase, every song is awesome. Their upbeat, commonsense lyrics fit right into their rock-ballad riffs.
Gop3.com has posted their defiant pro-Bush video before and we would definitely suggest their pro-life and pro-troops videos. Here some examples of their lyrics to give you an idea of their style (or you can listen to clips here):
Stop Global Whining
There’s a crisis on the planet
It’s heated up almost a whole degree
It hasn’t been this hot in a long time
Not since the 16th Century
When there were no evil SUVsChorus
Stop Global Whining
It’s up to you
The earth’s been heating up and cooling back down
Since the day it started spinning ’round and ’round
Stop Global Whining
Get your head out of the clouds
Shut Up and Teach
Nowhere in this textbook does it say Bush equals Hitler
Nowhere in this chapter does it claim we had it coming
No way in this room can you blame Capitalism
No way on this earth will I be swayedChorus
Shut up and teach
Don’t give a speech
Keep your political beliefs
All to yourself until the bell
Your job as far as I can tell
Doesn’t include indoctrination so could you please
Shut up and teach
Big Oil
We use it, we need it almost as much as air
Dependent on the Middle East and no one seems to care
That billions of barrels of oil are in the ground
And the “freakenvironmentalists†won’t let us get it outChorus
So before you go and point your finger covered in gasoline
And whine about their record profits
Remember things aren’t what they seem
Try and educate yourself with the facts or just admit you’re spoiled
If you don’t like it don’t buy it
It’s not the fault of “Big Oilâ€

I particularly enjoyed “Shut Up and Teach”; the line about indoctrination was telling. It set me wondering–are these Right Brothers in favor of prayer (or indoctrination) in schools? Would they complain equally about the rabidly pro-conservative bias (or indoctrination) evident in classes such as high school economics? Do they realize that history textbooks, for the most part, contain an intentional propagandistic slant (intended to indoctrinate our children)? Do they support creationism (indoctrination) being taught in the classroom?
I wonder.

I just heard “Shut Up and Teach” on the Documentary Channel’s presentation of “Indoctrinate U”, a very interesting film about the leftist ways and political agendas of many American Universities. Unbelievable!! If everything else that is going on in this country doesn’t incite the need for a revolution in us, this certainly should! The Right Brothers are right, and I will definitely be listening to more of their songs! Keep up the good work. But as another commented, I hope you are also Christians, and are not opposed to prayer in schools.
Yes, I love these guys. “Shut up and Teach” is my new theme song! But, yes, if they follow those rules, they have to follow religious beliefs and such. And not just Christian. Buddhist and Islam and Hindu and Mormon and Evolution, etc. If you follow one, you follow all. So therefore, all schools are wrong and don’t follow their own rules? I don’t know, don’t ask me, I’m only fourteen… but I know enough to know I <3 THESE GUYS!
