Support OUR Troops - Remember Me by Lizzie Palmer

Written by Brandon on April 16, 2007 – 10:00 am -

Welcome, if you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed or subscribe to our email newsletter. Thanks for visiting!

This video, produced by a 15 year old, is all over the conservative blogosphere (well over 2 million people have viewed it). I had to repost it after watching. It is so powerful it’s almost hard to watch when people say things like this (posted as one of many hateful comments on YouTube):

” YTcommunitywatch (14 hours ago)
ok. i still don’t care for the troops. it’s sad that they are dying for no reason but i don’t particularly care about them. “

Our support must be genuine, consistent and unified. These are proud Americans fighting not just for us but for a terror-free way of life. My prayers and thanks will always be with them.

  1. SPET3R Says:

    Wow… thats a real tear jerker…

Thanks for sharing Brandon. I’ve held Support our Troops functions and it was worth every effort.

  2. Donna Maranto Says:

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!!
You have great talent and insight. I thank you so much for reminding us of what the military and their families go through.
Don’t let any negative talk or words effect you - - you are doing a good thing in creating a video like this. I wish that some of the news broadcast would pick it up and air it.
I am planning to send it to some of the talk show hosts….maybe they will have enough guts to air it.
    Thanks again.
Donna Maranto - proud to be American and proud of our Military

  3. Bobbie Cox Says:

Thank you for the wonderful tribute. As a mother of an Air Force son I know the great sacrifices our troops are making. Anyone who does not support them is not an American and should be deported.

  4. Bobbie Cox Says:

Thank you for the wonderful tribute. Keep up the good work.

  5. Sharon Frye Says:

    Prayer For Our Soldiers

O Lord, to you we bring our plea
We humbly ask on bended knee,
We pray that You would be a shield
That around our soldiers, evils yield.

We pray that from each new day’s start
You’d bless them with a fearless heart.
We know that there’s a time for war-
Lord, Bless this cause they’re fighting for.

Help them bravely fight the fight,
Guide them always with Your might.
Be there Lord, when times grow lonely,
Help them feel Your Spirit only.

Lift them up and draw them near,
    Kiss away each salty tear.
Hold them close ’til there’s no doubt
Of what Your Love is all about.

Guard their feet on rocky trails,
Guard their minds, so they’ll not fail.
We pray that not one weapon prospers,
And that no act of terror fosters–

    Against our beloved soldiers here,
For Oh Sweet Lord, we hold them dear!

    Sharon Frye

  6. Yvonne Says:

This is a wonderful tribute. I am the daughter of two soldiers and the wife of a W04 who served 24 years active duty and still serves with the DOD and yearlt trips to Iraq to provide techniocal support for the troops.

Lizzie, the only thing I ask is perhaps the next video should show the ethnic and cultural diversity of our Armed Forces personnel serving in the miliatry. It may be something you didn’t notice or perhaps there was no access to photos more representative of our troops but a more balanced view of the sacrifice, the families and the sorrow would be great.

God bless and keep our troops and DOD civilians.

  7. C.C.Cox Says:

I served my country for 10 years. This video brought back every emotion from every deployment and every homecoming all at once. I can only pray that people see this, and at least try to understand why we do what we do.
    Hooyah America!!
    Remember 9/11

  8. Danny Says:

    Hello all!
I am trying to contact Lizzie Palmer for the purpose of using her video as part of our opening ceremonies for our Field Day at Countryside Elementary School in Sterling, Va. We are doing a “Military Appreciation” theme and will have service men and women there to celebrate with us and show them our gratitude. The video is a bit heavy and eludes to a few political messages that my principal wants me to change a bit in order to show to a k-5 and up audience. Does anyone have Lizzie’s contact info so that I can get the original and edit it, with her permission of course. Thank you! DC

  9. Jeff Parker Says:

    Hello,
I’m also trying to contact Lizzie regarding the using of her video “Remember Me” for our Memorial Day service here at Eastmont Community Church in Wenatchee, WA. Any help in finding out information would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the images are available in the public domain. However as an artistic “body of work” it is copyright protected and legally one must have permission from the originator to re-broadcast in any form or distribute.
This is such an awe inspiring video. (who didn’t cry?)
I sent a request to the copyright department at YouTube.
Will forward when we have a response.

  11. Darlene Mainwaring Says:

This is truly a beautiful tribute to the men and women who serve in our military, who fight for our freedoms and unfortunately for those who died for our freedoms. If only the news media would share this with the world rather than the clueless and extremely negative representation of the war in Iraq.

  12. Jake Creecy Says:

    That was on the mark.

  13. Erin Says:

This seems like a bit of propaganda to me. And naturally Faux News is promoting it. Of course we ALL support the troops. And most of us want to support them by getting them home and safe as soon as possible.
This administration needs to start supporting the troops. Better care and benefits for a start. That is why perhaps a better slogan might be

“HONOR THE WARRIOR AND NOT THE WAR” !!!!!!!!!

  14. Larry Zelikoff Says:

    YTCommunity Watch,

These brave people are fighting to give you the right to say things like you just said. It’s sad that folks like you exist in this country. I only hope that our soldiers realize that you are the exception and not the rule.

To our GIs, you have no idea how much we love you and want you home safe and sound.

  15. Bill Says:

How can I get this video on my computer?

  16. Chrissy Says:

I am a sister of 2 brothers in the Military. One of which served twice in Iraq.
I cried so hard watching this video.
But it reminds me that even if my brother Jason is back safe……that their are still other families experiencing the same pain as I did when he was there.

All our troops ask for is love, understanding, and support. Especially when they are putting their lives on the line to protect our freedom. Missing out on holiday’s, birth of children, birthday’s, grief for the death of a loved one….I could go on.
To all that serve so bravely in all the branches of the military:
    I do remember you
    I do support you
    And I DO LOVE YOU.

    Thank you!

Anyone finding out where this young lady is and how to get hold of her, please contact me at malcolmbounds@comcast.net, this is urgent.

  19. Dan Whitesell Says:

This video, like many others, serves to hide the real issue of the war behind images of the troops and their suffering. As long as well indoctrinated citizens continue to appeal to emotions by carefully restricting their focus only to a small percentage of the people affected by the war, then they consciously or unconsciously continue to support a criminal policy that the troops are being used for. In other words, the mantra “support our troops” is a propaganda façade that hides the real issue: the illegal invasion of a defenseless nation to gain control of oil reserves. This real issue has to be suppressed because it’s indefensible.

This emotional appeal also has another major flaw. For every U.S. military person killed wounded or negatively affected by this war, there are literally dozens if not hundreds of completely innocent Iraqi victims that suffer every bit as much and more. The Iraqis had no choice in the matter. They were invaded in their own country. WHY ARE THEY CONSISTENTLY AND REPEATEDLY LEFT OUT OF THESE TYPES OF EMOTIONAL APPEALS? Because the people compiling these videos do not understand that principle and morality are universal, applying equally to every human being on the planet. The mentality that allows this massive crime against humanity to take place is one that says, we are the only important ones, other people don’t matter. Our suffering is everything, the suffering we cause doesn’t matter.

  20. Carole Says:

Poor Daniel is so misguided. I come from an overwhelmingly military family, and many of my freinds are military. All of the ones who have been there (Iraq) have spoken of the heart ache that they feel knowing that people with the same thinking as Daniel feel the way that they do. The number of Iraqi citizens who have approached my friends and family while in Iraq have been thankful at the chance to start a Democratic society where all are free from tyrants such as Sadam and freedom from the fear of being raped, maimed, tortured, or killed just because they are a female, or a christian, or an open minded teacher who believes that all have the right to knowledge. And you say we are wrong in this fight??? If the United States fell under a tyrants rule where our freedoms and way of life would match what those of the Iraqi citizens faced, I’d be praying to God that some other country would invade us to give us democracy. I’d be willing to give them all of the oil in Alaska, and even my life WILLINGLY even if I was a “innocent bystander” just so the country and people who I love could be FREE. And please notice, that with our troops occupying the time of the Al Queda and other terrorist groups over there, that our home soil has remained UNHARMED BY TERRORIST ACTS SINCE 9-11!!!! Sure, Let’s bring our troops home out of Iraq, so the terrorists no longer have to dwell on our troops in their home lands. That way, we can be nice to them and invite them with open arms into the United States to cause more death and destruction. You’re totally right Dan, we are so wrong to have our troops in a land filled with people who want us to stay there in the hopes of gaining true freedom in their land and true security, We’re also just so wrong to want to keep our own country safe, stupid us! Who wants peace of mind anymore?

  21. David Tracy Says:

Wouldn’t the best way to support our loved ones (brothers, sisters, mothers, best friends, uncles etc.) be to bring them HOME from a country that has insurgents pouring across the borders, lusting to kill American infidels, even though that means causing their own suicides?

The video, reportedly (?) picked up by Fair-And-Balanced® Fox News begins by correctly identifying the troops as our loved ones. The captions of the slide show, with emotionally-moving music, then ask: ” . . . Aren’t you proud? Are you still there? Did I do something wrong? Aren’t you missing me? . . . “

Yes, loved ones, we are proud of you. We’re still here and we ARE missing you — and NO, loved ones: you didn’t do anything wrong. Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rice, Rove and the other neoconservatives in the current administration are the ones who did wrong. They put all of you into this mess, in harm’s way, and they will keep you there for the sake of political expediency, until the next administration has to clean-up the mess they created.
In this way, after they are long gone from the White House, they can spin their interpretation of their war’s history by claiming that they didn’t lose the war they created. They will claim that, after all, they still wanted you loved ones to keep fighting against an enemy that we cannot tell apart from the Iraqi civilians who support us. Many people, especially those working for Fox News, will believe their nonsense and promote their contrived version of reality.
In the future they will brazenly claim that whatever administration follows theirs is the one that really “lost” the war that you fought and sacrificed for. They know that the next administration will most likely be a democratic one because President Bush’s approval ratings are the lowest of any president in recent memory, and many scholars speculate that President Bush could eventually be considered one of our country’s worst presidents of all time. Many thoughtful people have been arguing for some time that the war is already lost, and that we just can’t re-shape the entire world in our own image, even if we would like to get our hands on their oil.

In the video, the slide show of our loved ones (and the captions arbitrarily created for them by a 15-year-old) continue:

    “ . . . I do my job. I don’t ask for much. Some people hate me. But I don’t complain. . . .”

We love you, loved ones. That is why we stick-up for you by being against the war. We want to bring each one of you home where you belong. Some people do hate you. You know who: every Arab who saw the Abu Ghraib photos; that is, EVERY ARAB.
And while we can’t be absolutely certain that these other guys hate you, we do know that they do not love you. They are: President Bush, Vice-president Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rove and Rice. You know, the leaders of this administration, chock full of Vietnam draft avoiders who are using you, our loved ones, like political pawns in chess, and want to keep you in harm’s way by selfishly trying to save face (as we explained above), even if that means too many of you loved ones will come home in bags.

We love you so much we want you back here with us, living, loving and breathing, ASAP.

The video ends: “Each and every soldier needs our support. Don’t let them down.”

Absolutely. Come home, loved ones, safe and sound. God bless America.

You’re all in my prayers!! Thank you so much for your sacrifices so we and others in the world might be free!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 23. Nathan S Says:

    Carole,

Great post! I’m from a military family too. You summed up exactly the way I feel.

  24. Erin Says:

To Carole, Might you then be an “insurgent” if we were to be attacked and invaded and occupied? interesting !

  25. Nathan S Says:

I would say it would make her closer to the Iraqi forces we are trying to train to defend themselves and maintain democracy. A better question is in that senario what would you be Erin?

  26. Casey Says:

I am a current Military member serving overseas. Yes thats right, Im in IRAQ right now, in the heart of the beast. To David and Daniel and all others who have, or may think about leaving some sort of negative comment about this video…dont. This video is the FIRST thing ive seen that has truly brought about the feelings of me and my soldiers while deployed. Remember 9-11… then think about how wrong it is to fight terrorism, not that wrong is it? We serve our country and do it proudly. I serve my Commander and Cheif, President George W. Bush and I do it gratefully that I may be a part of something bigger than myself. I serve to help a people that have been brought to a low that you may never imagine unless you’ve been here, because they can’t do it all on their own. To Lizzie, thank you. I know not if other words will express what this video has meant to me and my soldiers. You are an inspiration. Do not let negative people discourage you for you are in the right, and fighting for doing the right is never wrong. Thank you.

  27. Dan Whitesell Says:

In response your post, Carole, I would like to respectfully ask a few questions. First of all, let me just state that I have no doubt that your military friends and family are well meaning people who entered the armed forces to serve their country and I salute them for that, but they don’t make the policy that they are used for; they follow orders, and this is the point of contention: the nature of the mission they have been sent to carry out. You say that there are a number of Iraqi citizens who have approached your serving military friends and family to say they want democracy free of tyrants such as Saddam Hussein, and I’m sure most Iraqis do want such a democracy. That’s not what’s being argued. I know of no one that doesn’t want that. But these are not the motivations that drove our government to invade Iraq, nor are they the primary goals. To begin to see this more clearly, we just have to consider two very fundamental points with respect to our involvement in Iraq. (1) What percentage of the Iraqi population wanted the U.S. troops to invade their country and what percentage (now or ever) want the U.S. troops to continue the occupation? and (2) what was the policy of the United States government toward Saddam Hussein when he was carrying out his worst atrocities against his own people? Both questions are very easy to answer. The overwhelming majority of Iraqis did not want the U.S. to invade Iraq and opinion polls continue to show that they want the U.S. troops out of their country. The answer to the second question is one that has been even more consistently suppressed in the U.S. mainstream media. The United States government supported Saddam Hussein right through his worst atrocities, with full knowledge of what was he was doing. Well, this type of information simply does not support the claim that the U.S. government made the decision to invade Iraq to bring democracy to its citizens or because they were fundamentally opposed to Saddam’s atrocities. Let me be clear about my position. I make a definite distinction between the intent of the policy makers in Washington and the desire of ordinary American citizens and those in the armed services to make the world a better place.

  28. Nathan S Says:

    Dan…..

According to a BBC poll (Date of article: 3/19/.2007) 35% want the coalition forces gone now.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2007/03_march/19/iraq.shtml

    From the article:
“Asked how long coalition forces should remain in Iraq, only 35% said they should leave at once, while 63% said they should go only after security was better and the capacity of the Iraqi government and security forces had improved.”

Any speculation you might have about ulterior motives (which indecently you never said) does not change that fact that removing Sadam from power and establishing democracy was the best thing that could have happened for the people of Iraq. Taking a good thing and attempting to attach negative motives to it is sad.

I have a question for you too. If freedom and democracy were the reasons to be over in Iraq would you join the military?

We know the answer to that question. Here’s a better one. What do you believe in enough to put yourself in harms way for?

The answer to that question demonstrates the difference between you and people like Casey, myself, Carole and others.

  29. Dan Whitesell Says:

Nathan, thank you for providing the BBC poll information. The article reflects the situation quite well. The heading is entitled “Optimism fades in Iraq” and the paragraph before the one you quoted states:

“Among all Iraqis, support for the coalition forces is low: 82% expressed a lack of confidence in them (a little higher than 2005), 78% opposed their presence and 69% thought they had made the security situation worse. Just over half (51%) thought politically–motivated attacks on coalition forces were acceptable (17% in 2004).”

If I’m reading it correctly it says 78% of Iraqis oppose the presence of coalition forces.

As for the motives for the invasion, they are not ulterior, and they are well understood by most Iraqis and certainly by U.S. policy makers. They understand that the United States is involved in Iraq and the region for strategic control of resources, oil. The Baker Report reaffirms this strategic importance. U.S. involvement in the region goes back at least to the post World War II period when we gradually took over control from the British Empire.

You state that the removal of Saddam Hussein from power and the establishing of democracy was the best thing that could have happened to the people of Iraq. Most Iraqis certainly don’t think so. First, the vast majority of Iraqis opposed the invasion and understood that it was not to benefit them (whether Saddam was removed or not). Second, democracy has not been established nor can it under an illegal occupation.

Freedom and democracy are not the reasons that U.S. troops are in Iraq, and so your question is irrelevant to this issue, and it is way for you to avoid the real issue. Also, by posing these questions you are trying to imply that the bravery of U.S. military personnel somehow equates to justification of the invasion and occupation. It does not, as I made clear in the previous post.

Sorry, the personal attacks don’t work with me.

  30. David Tracy Says:

We cannot find hard evidence that “Lizzie Palmer” ever appeared on Fox News. We cannot find hard evidence that “Lizzie Palmer,” “Elizabeth Palmer,” or anyone else claiming to have created the video piece ever existed.

Given the absence of such evidence, despite the sensitivity of the slide show, CAN SOMEONE P-R-O-V-E “Lizzie Palmer” is not a hoax? Eagerly awaiting hard proof “Lizzie Palmer” actually exist(ed)(s).

    David Tracy,

    Las Vegas

  31. Nathan S Says:

    Oh Dan….

I had to laugh about the attack comment. Is asking what is important to you an attack? You obviously felt as much and you didn’t answer. Maybe there isn’t an answer for you. Oh well….

Actually the poll say the majority of the Iraqi people do want us there (for now) roughly two-thirds.

As far as there being no democracy the historic elections held would indicate otherwise.

There I go, needlessly belaboring facts.

Continue to refuse to face facts, stay at home nursing your misplaced indignation. You won’t find the solace in it you think is a replacement for conviction and so you make yourself far more miserable than I or anyone else ever could make you.

You’re not being attacked, you are being pitied.

  32. Carl Lahetta Says:

Tell Lizzie Palmer her video, Remember Me, misspelled the word “niece”. Thanks

  33. YTCommunityWatch Says:

I can reveal that this video was produced by the Pentagon.

  34. Max Says:

Dan Whitesell, you have demonstrated your knowledge of recent history and your well-reasoned interpretation of it is impressive. But it’s all lost on this lot. This is one of those “pretty-boy blogger” sites funded primarily through neo-conservative ideologue David Horowitz. A core tactic of the neocons (as posited by Leo Strauss himself) is to recruit and control the minds of young, gullible believers. They make the best “soldiers” for promoting the selfish interests of the rich and powerful.

Dan, despite your patience and skill, you cannot penetrate their delusions. No outsider can enter their cult of cognitive dissonance. Their logic is impenetrable. It goes just like this:

    God wrote a book.
He told us who to hate.

You should not try to reason with them. They are in training to become killers. They would bump you off without compunction (they might call it pity). You should try to hide.

  35. Nathan S Says:

    Max,

Your delusions are not helping you. What does your shrink say?

  36. Brian Says:

I love that the same people who fell in love with the likes of Alger Hiss just trip over themselves proclaiming that the Right in America perpetrates all of these conspiracies. Never before in history has one political movement literally projected so completely its tactical operations, both real and those it wish it were capable of, onto an opposing party.

    The left:

    1) Would like to, and to some extent does, pull off their agenda through covert means when not legitimately possible;
    2) Fails to do so due to its overwhelming incompetence at covert political scheming (albeit, the more politically extreme tend to be more creative ala Saul Alinsky);
    3) Anticipates that everybody else, esp. the Right, must be at least as corrupt as they are, and thus accuses the right of political conspiracy;
    4) Froths at the mouth when the Right succeeds, clamoring over “conspiracy,” because frankly deceit is all that much of the Left knows itself; and
    5) Can’t believe that anyone would legitimately chose anyone but them and their benevolent governance.

  37. Brandon Henak Says:

Wait, the neo-cons are paying bloggers?!?!? Man, we must be missing out…. oh…..

  38. Jon Says:

Dan, Max is right. Your points are well reasoned, but reason is not sufficient to overcome cognitive dissonance. It’s a real mess we’re in that so many people cannot see the truth of what this war is costing us, who it benefits, and why we’ve been thrust into it. Remember also the words of Thoreau, “In a country with unjust laws, the only place for an honest man is in prison.” We may all do well to take Max’s advice and hide if our country does not soon recover its sanity.

  39. Carl Murray Says:

Having been a peace time vet I still find videos like this very hard to watch without tearing up. I even try to be at all troop returns in my town. But find it too hard to attend a burial (there have been several of those here). I feel the families are going to be overwelmed enough with out adding another person. Even though I didn’t know that fallen hero I’m not sure what my presence serve to the family. Have a nice memorial day.

  40. Dan Whitesell Says:

Max and Jon, thank you for the advice. I think you are right. I really was hoping to have a meaningful discussion of these very important issues with people who disagree, but unfortunately a serious debate has not (yet) been possible.

  42. Sue Says:

Has anyone found out how to contact Lizzie yet? I, too, am interested in sharing this with my school children if possible.

  43. Danielle Clark Says:

I would like to thank whoever produced this wonderful video. I am an Air Force child and wife, and sometimes it seems like my husbands sacrifices go totally unappreciated. I would like to say that no matter where you stand on this issue, I would think that knowing that these men and women are out there dying for you would move you in some way. No matter how you feel about what our military is doing, these people sacrifice everything they have for you, America. Please don’t ever forget that. They go where they’re told, when they’re told, so that their families and yours can have the right to say the things you’ve said above. And they die for that right. Some of them die with hateful words ringing in their ears because some people think they’re wrong. Don’t let another soldier die with words of menace or hatred running through their minds. No matter what, they do all they do for you.

  44. Colleen Says:

That was one of the most wonderful things I have ever seen. I am blown away by the fact that such a young lady has the compassion to put something that made me- a grown woman, cry. I wish I could tell her this in person- that , and she, are truly amazing.

  45. Kent Says:

Lizzie’s father, Neil, supposedly posted on this blog — you might be able to get in contract with them from there:

    http://blog.beyondhorizoncoaching.com/2007/05/remember-me-by-lizzie-palmer.html

As a 27 year vet, my only comment to the paranoid hatemongers above is:

“It is the honor, integrity and courage of those who’re willing to put their behinds on the line that provides you the opportunity to live freely and believe as you choose to believe. Can you not grant them just one tiny fraction of the same respect — and not tarnish the appreciation that others feel for them by opportunistically pushing your own political agenda? Lizzie didn’t present a political agenda — you did.”

  46. Jim Says:

I am a father, a son, a brother, an uncle and I am also a disabled Vet from Iraq. I don’t care who made this video. All I know is that it’s message must be heard. I was proud to serve my country and I knew the risks going in. I have no regrets. To all who disagree with the war, that’s fine but do not take you anger for the President out on a video that raises awareness of people’s pain. My family has suffered more that I, my wounds are visable but theirs are not. Please if you must express your opinions, just don’t sit at a computer go get involved.

  47. Scott Royer Says:

Wow. Lest we forget. Thank you Lizzy and THANK YOU VETS.

    HUGGS !!!!!!!

  48. Warren Poitras Says:

I saw this extremely powerful video on Fox News Sunday this morning, June 10, 2007. To say that I was impressed is the ultimate understatement. I haven’t seen anything that moved me so much in quite a while. I’m obviously very late in seeing it - I understand it’s been viewed by more than 2,000,000 people already so there’s not much I can add to what’s already been said. But I would very much like to know where Ms. Palmer found the music she used for the soundtrack. It is from a CD? If so, would someone let me know which one as I’d very much like to buy a copy. Thanks in advance. WP

Apparently, that is the problem Mr. Whitesell. You are looking for debate in the wrong place. This blog post was about a creative, patriotic, and inspiring post attributed to a 15 yr old. That post was about supporting and remembering our troops. There was no mention of WMDs, supporting the GOP party, President George W. Bush, or our reasons for going to war.
You entered in this forum, attacked the post and people responding to it. You then tried to force discussion on why you think we should not be in Iraq. Of course you are disappointed in the lack of discussion on this issue. You basically interrupted a discussion on one subject, by people who came here to discuss or comment on that subject, and are trying to fuel argument on a subject that does not belong here. Start your own forum for discussion or find one of many already begun on the subject.

Thank you Lizzie Palmer for bringing this beautiful, moving video to us. My own one and only son (Pvt. John Gardner) is with the Army, 101st Airborne Div., Ft. Campbell, KY and will be deploying to Iraq in September. I am very proud of him, for at the young age of 19, he has chosen to defend our beautiful country and to fight for our rights and our freedom here at home. I will continue to pray for him and all of our troops’ safety. Thank you to ALL of our troops, past and present, and may God Bless them and be with them and the families they have left behind. We support you 100%!

“Propaganda,” Erin… She’s 15 for crying out loud! Stop dipping into the “cheese heroin!”

  52. Ronnie Notter Says:

…and, Erin. The slogan here is “Remember Me.” Isn’t she already “honoring the warrior and not the war?” I watched it a couple times over and I still don’t see anything that directly supports our current war. Maybe I need to dip into a bit of that cheese to see what you saw.

12,053,623 views as of this afternoon on Youtube alone, excluding other video sites. The music is Pacific Wind by Ryan Farish, it wasn’t available from Amazon.com but i managed to find it on iTunes (its probably part of an album of a different name, and thus WOULD be available on Amazon.com, but i didn’t check THAT thoroughly).

I don’t get the thinking of those who say we should honor our troops home so they can be safe and sound and not get hurt. And this is going to keep terrorists from following them home and killing their families as well?

I know this is hard on families and friends who have troops fighting this, but they are keeping the fighting where it comes from. I don’t think they’d be in the military if they weren’t interested in serving our country.

Thank you to all of our service people, our commanders (including President Bush). And may God Bless everyone involved, including those affected in these other countries. Certainly, we need God. I urge everyone to keep being thankful and praying.

  57. Fred stedman Says:

People are real sheep in this country.

Of coarse we support our troops for gods sake. The simple fact that there are those out there that pretend that being against this war is = to being against out troops should tell you their true motivation. Then again I guess one would have to have an IQ above the 40% range to be able to see this.

Its amazing to me that the American people are so stupid as to not realize what the heck is going on when a president and his associates that have over 70 years worth of ties with mid east oil start a way that cuts off 25% of the worlds supply.

The Saudis are sure happy thought.

Doesn’t Bush and gang have strong business ties with the Saudis? No I must be wrong….. People would revolt if that were true…. Well maybe not..

(((((((I know this is hard on families and friends who have troops fighting this, but they are keeping the fighting where it comes from. I don’t think they’d be in the military if they weren’t interested in serving our country.))))))))

This is the most fundamentally ridiculous simple-minded notion I have ever heard. If you think that these people are going all of a sudden hate us less at some future time then there is nothing that can ever help you. Just keep watching FOX news and wash rinse and repeat.

Why do people have to continually be reminded that Saddam and the Iraqi’s fought against these terrorists organizations for 30 years. Saddam saw them as a threat to his regime. Most of the terrorist organizations from this region are based out of Saudi Arabia. Not Iraq.

These are simple straight forward facts. They can be verified by anyone.
Once you verify them ask your self than Why Iraq. Anyone that has the slightest knowledge of the Mid East knows that there was no way in hell anything that this administration said about Iraq was true.

I work in the Bio-tech field. When I saw the supposed bio-labs AKA canvas covered trucks I fell on the floor laughing. This administration has intentionally faked Intel. Period. end of story. His entire family history is based on oil and war profiteering.

    Wake the hell up

  59. Target Says:

America is the worst thing to happen to Iraq.

The fact that we helped Saddam come to power, criticize him for using biological chemicals even though we have been bombing Iraq with depleted uranium missiles. Let’s not call the kettle black. Those are missiles filled with depleted uranium. NUCLEAR WASTE PEOPLE. Now we are occupying them, taking their oil.

I have an uncle in the army who has been to Iraq numerous times and from what I understand the guys in our military can’t STAND the Iraqis, being that they will wave to you one day then shoot at you the next. And why is that I wonder? Maybe the radiation is getting to them? It sure is affecting their newborns. How about you people look up those poor, mutated babies and cry over that instead, they sure as hell didn’t sign up for that!

Anyone who thinks that coming back from Iraq will bring the terrorists over here needs to stop watching these nostalgic soldier videos and realize that is nonsense, there were NO terrorists in Iraq before we even invaded.

Who is Lizzie Palmer? Where does she live and go to school? Where did she get the pictures? What, specifically, inspired her to make the video? Did she get any help? From where? Do her parents or any other close relative work for the government, military, or defense contractors? What is her ambition?

  61. Jean R Says:

Thanks, Lizzie. You’ve made us all proud. We won’t forget!

  62. Bill Cassedy Says:

    Ms Palmer,
I hope that this finds it way to you.

As a vetern of the Vietnam War, your video tugged at something deep inside me, and, I suspect, those of us who served in that terrible war. I was never “in country”. None the less, I was part of the military who served in a war that divided a nation.

Your video tribute would, had it been available during that tragic period, have helped countless people, on both sides of the fence: for the war / against the war. It would have lessened the nightmare that was Vietnam.

I used the salutation “Ms” at the beginning because it is intended as a form of respect, just as Dr. is used to address those who heal. I believe your video should do that very same thing.
