As promised, the 1/2 Hour News Hour, Fox’s answer to the liberal Daily Show started anew last night. The OxyClinton advertisement and intro have already been a big hit, I am definitely DVRing future episodes.
OxyClinton:
Full seven minute clip, great stuff on Rutgers, Duke, Al Gore and other classics, the sexual harassment piece is a bit over the top though:
- The Graphic Effect of High Taxes and Spending, Move on out! - June 16th, 2010
- Live from the 2010 Wisconsin GOP Convention - May 22nd, 2010
- Republican Party of Wisconsin State Convention 2010 - May 21st, 2010
- Charts: Artificial American Recovery? - April 15th, 2010
- Liberal Professor to Teach FUELMilwaukee "Government 101" - April 14th, 2010

Cancelled. Some of this stuff was funny, but no way this show lasts, as much as Jon Stewart bothers me, I do think he is legitmatley funny at times, but this FOX show… France jokes? Come on!
If I ever get enthused about Hillary Clinton for 4 hours, please get me to a hospital!
I appreciate humor from all sides of the aisle. I watched this show for a bit last night. It’s not funny. Sorry. The guy who’s the ombudsman on Red Eye on Fox is funny. This is not.
I never really expected you to be a big fan Greg
What is the conservative position on sexual harrassment? I was totally confused by the skit they did. It implied that sexual harrassment cases in the workplace are usually jokes and not serious offenses? Did Bill O’Reilly write that segment. That would at least explain how humorless it was.
I’m amazed that you find this show funny. It’s just nor funny regardless of what your politics are. Conservatives can be funny (see. e.g. P.J. O’Rourke) but this show is just so so so bad.
I really dislike the Daily Show. There is something about John Stewart’s voice that I just don’t like. 1/2 hour news show is enjoyable, but I think the Stephen Colbert Report is a lot more funny. 1/2 news show reminds me of SNL.
I hate to say it, but if this show is the best we can come up with for conservative humor, it explains a lot about why people vote liberal.
I thought it was excellent.
“A plot was foiled where terrorists were going to bomb Fort Dix last week, Harry Reid held a press conference calling for the immediate withdrawal of troops from Fort Dix” .
Also in commenting on violence in France after the election of Nicolas Sarkozy, they reported that the violence ended after France surrendered to itself.
I liked the “harrassment” skit very much, and the OxyClinton commercial (starring Laura Ingram) was very funny. Surprisingly, didn’t care for Dennis Miller. And another “I’m the ACLU” was great! I could hear liberal teeth grinding.
It will probably rerun next Sunday,10 Eastern, 9 Central. 13 episodes are coming this season.
Well worth watching. Very funny SNL stuff.
Its FOX… MADTV isn’t very good either. Southpark and a few other good notable shows are Conservatives… This is just one of them. If you know a lot about politics this is hilarous! Pex, you’re right it is a lot like SNL.
I think anything that annoys liberals is hilarious. I spent half an hour laughing at this mosquito bite on my arm because I imagined that it was on some liberal’s nose. Ha ha! Itches, don’t it, you commie punk?
The show is definitely lame. Their jokes are too obvious and immature. Conservative humor exists, but this isn’t it.
“Also in commenting on violence in France after the election of Nicolas Sarkozy, they reported that the violence ended after France surrendered to itself.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa, France surrenders to itself, I get it! That’s some sophisticated humor there. You have to be a comic genius to come up with that joke!
At least Hilary Clinton’s voice has one major advantage over that of the current White House occupant. It is capable of articulating a coherent sentence. Senator Clinton is also able to speak spontaneously without the aid of either visual cues or electronic prompts from offstage advisors.
Of greater importance, Senator Clinton not only knows how to read, she does so!!!
