A Different Meaning for Medical Marijuana

Do you agree with me on this proposition? National government-run health care is the gateway drug to socialism.
Think about it. Once the liberals establish socialized medicine nationwide, once they take over one industry, what’s to stop them from taking over another? Every American needs a good education, therefore from now on all K-12 schools will be run by the federal government (some people already think this).
Once they can establish in the minds of American voters the principle that the federal government can do things more efficiently, or that some things are so important that they must be done by the federal government, where might it end?

You nailed it.
Think of the possibilities of government if they gain control of healthcare:
-They can tell you where you can work and what you can do for a living. So say goodbye to any “dirty jobs” like coalmining, oil-rigging, etc.
-They can tell you what you can and cannot eat, or at the very least, tax the daylights out of fast food and junk food. Want that Whopper? Pay up.
-They can leverage the idea of “public health” and “common welfare” to ban things that they feel contribute to poor health. So you could extrapolate that to anything more or less they do not like (i.e. talk radio). Which means less choice for all of us.
As my parents told me as a kid, “whoever pays has the final say.” So if government pays for healthcare, what says they can’t control everything else about you?

So true. If you want to make liberals rushing towards socialized medicine pause it is critical to remind them that once Uncle Sam is picking up the tab he ought to ultimately have the right to decide what risks people take in their lives (ie unprotected sex that results in medical costs ought to be punishable in a socialized system etc.).
