“The Pentagon has chosen a veteran Army colonel with a military intelligence as well as defense lawyer’s background to serve as chief prosecutor for war crimes trials at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.
“It was not immediately known when Army Col. Lawrence J. ”Larry” Morris, the new prosecutor, would assume his duties. He was officially named on Monday. …
“Morris is a 1982 graduate of Marquette Law School whose official biography says he was commissioned into the army as a military intelligence officer. …
“Morris currently runs the team of Army officers who defend soldiers accused of crimes as chief of the Army’s Trial Defense Service. He earlier was the chief lawyer at the West Point military academy.”
Colonel Morris is an alumnus of Marquette University with a B.A. in political science and journalism. He is also an alumnus of Marquette University Law School, where he was managing editor of the Law Review and captain of a moot court team.
