You forgot the most important possibility:
“Who Cares?”

Romney is most likely because he has conservative credentials. But I don’t think it will save McCain.

Why Guiliani? He seems to just reinforce McCain’s defense credentials, not complement him on the economy like Romney (not to mention Romney’s fund raising ability).

I love Romney, but I really think a better choice would be Carly Fiorina, former CEO of HP and overseer of highly successful IPO of Lucent. Another great choice would be Sarah Palin, extremely popular Governor of Alaska. But of course Republicans make pretty boring choices for VP so instead of going with those two ladies or Bobby Jindal or Paul Ryan, we’re going to end up with Charlie Crist or Pawlenty.

But what if McCain dies? Then one of these guys will be President? What were the Founding Fathers thinking? Is it too late to change this?

Steve Kroll–obviously you are not a shareholder in HP, nor employed there, or you’d NEVER mention Fiorina and “success” in the same sentence.

@dad29, oh I am very aware of what happened at HP. Fiorina delegated tasks to newly acquired execs from a Compaq merger who did not get along with HP execs. They bailed, leaving her with the same people @ HP who didn’t know what the **** they were doing. Plus, I stated she was highly successful at Lucent, not at HP. Any thoughts on a VP dad29?

Guess it’s not Jindal

Jindal has been trying to distance himself from the VP slot for a while now. I think McCain needs to make a splash with his choice. Dick Morris outlines a few options to change the landscape,

I’m going to say Pawlenty. Romney and Huckabee don’t get along with McCain. When was the last time a winning combination happened when the nominee chose someone who lost the primary? The first one that comes to mind is Bush in 1980.

Pawlenty = Safe. Evangelicals love him. Conservative governor in a democratic state. Son of a milk man. I mean c’mon, who doesn’t love the son of a milk man.

Romney of course. Don’t they pick the candidate with the best looking hair?
July 26th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Probably Romney, but I don’t think it really matters. Unless he gets God Almighty on his ticket, McCain doesn’t stand a chance…and last time I checked, Mr. Almighty was not interested.
