I dunno, man. It seems to have caused just as big of an uproar (if not bigger) from the right. There have been a lot of former McCain aids and GOP strategists who think it’s “juvenile” and are pretty worried about the direction this ad takes the campaign.
What do you think about the ad?

I’m voting for him because he’s giving me a big tax break (I make under $70,000)and taxing the hell out of people making more than 2.8 million. I’d rather have my money than wait for a bigwig to trickle it down to me by putting his extra money in an offshore account.

Obama is lowering taxes not raising them!

Obama is excited to raise taxes on people with higher incomes. It says so on his website.

There are two references to higher taxes:
Reversing the Bush Tax Cuts
PAYGO
“Obama believes that a critical step in restoring fiscal discipline is enforcing pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) budgeting rules which require new spending commitments or tax changes to be paid for by cuts to other programs or new revenue.”
New revenue = tax increases
Tax changes = if you cut taxes in one area, you must raise them in another
I understand and agree that the federal budget deficit is terrible. PAYGO treats tax cuts like lost revenue (and not something that can spur an economy and actually raise tax revenue).
Obama does not make mention of across the board tax cuts. Obama’s solutions involve more spending.

Shocking that Obama is close enough to the celebrité of the two that the comparison is valid.
He is inexperienced and has been groomed (he voted “present” on the vast majority of controversial issues in the Illinois Senate). I would argue that he has made this race more about his star power because he ran with so little experience.
If you compare the Junior Senator Barack Obama’s experience to that of Sen John McCain, he does look a bit like a wild 20-something.

How nice of you to bring up those present votes of Obama. By the way, how often has McCain shown up to vote in the Senate since 2007? Such a great American hero would never miss the opportunity to show his patriotism would he?

I agree, ideally every Senator should vote on everything. However, missing a vote because you are running for President is different then a cowardly “present” vote.
