The Spooner Advocate reports on comments made by State Senator Bob Jauch at a meeting of the Washburn County Democratic Party:
He did direct some angry comments at WMC, which has placed issue ads against Jauch. He said the WMC acted like the Ku Klux Klan in bullying candidates.
‘Take the hoods off,’ Jauch said of the WMC.
Of course, foremost in the news this week is outgoing UW Madison Chancellor John Wiley’s essay in Madison Magazine. In his essay, he attacks WMC for “unconscionably scurrilous personal attacks” against former Justice Louis Butler. Others on the left tried to tar WMC as racist.
Jauch’s comments are doubly ironic then: a scurrilous personal attack with an explicit race reference.
