Marquette University Law School has launched a new blog featuring articles and commentary by members of the faculty. You may want to add it to your RSS reader. Here is Dean Joseph D. Kearney’s welcome post. It sounds like the blog will combine scholarly commentary on academic things, particularly everybody’s newest SSRN posting, with analysis on public policy issues facing Wisconsin. Check it out!

  1. A dose of reality Says:

The republicans are MC-Palin as Bush

Sometimes a brain is a dangerous thing to have. The republicans prove this time and time again when they convince low wage earners that are devastated by Reagan-nomics and Bush-nomics policies. When the election comes around they typically forget about the past, in this case the last 8 years of disaster, complete and unexplainable disaster. Do you know why they vote against their interest? Yes, it’s because we cling to our guns, religion and reject people that don’t looks like us? How else would you explain people voting for Mc-Palin, even though they are telling you they will carry on Bush policies? Small town people, let me ask you a question, have you ever notice that every time a republican gets into office the economy goes to sh@%T or at lease the middle class and poor people struggle. Our income goes down and the rich people get richer. It happened with Regan, Bush 1 and his idiot son Bush 2.

Let’s address this community organizer issue. Only elitists such as republicans would mock a community organizer-someone who tries to make ordinary people lives better. They are advocates for the poor and unfortunate. If you are rich and/or elitist then of course you would mock someone who tries to make peoples lives better, e.g. Rudy “911” Gulianni. Isn’t that the reason we elected people into office, to make our lives better?

Yes, Oboma was helping people make their lives better as a community organizer at the age of 23 while Palin was attending beauty pageants and trying her hand at being a sports anchor.

Yes, at 23 years old before Oboma went to law school he was helping people that loss their jobs at steel plants with job training and income assistance while Palin was walking across the run way in her bikini in beauty pageants.

Yes, at the age of 23 Oboma grew a non-profit foundation that was devoted to helping families with kitchen table issues, I’m talking about the same kitchen table issues small town families are dealing with now while Palin was doing sports highlights. Oboma came to the foundation when they had a budget of about 75k. Within 3 years, when he left the foundation to go to law school the foundation budget was $400,000.

Palin ran for Mayor in Alaska and about 660 people voted for her; great, fantastic. I had more people in my high school alone, let’s not mention college. Instead of comparing her experience as a mayor to a community organizer maybe she should try the contrast with a high school principal.

Yea, of course it’s easy to sell the governor’s jet on ebay when it was given to you because of your position. Please!

The republicans are upright walking hypocrisy. How can you be pro-life - no abortions but you’re a neocon searching for wars (McCain) to kill people. That embryo you saved with your pro-life position grow-up and then you send him or her to war. Is his or her life worth less when they step out of the womb? Yea, save the baby and then kill them later in a war without even trying strong and tough diplomacy, lol. Two polar opposite views, humm, I believe this is called schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia- Black republicans are confused; some people call them house negro-s. Such as some small town people, black republicans also vote against their interest. Well, let me back up a sec, it depends on what the black republican interest is. If their interest is just money and they forget about the people that helped them get to where they are and the misfortunate they grew up with, then I can rationalize their decision because they are motivated by money but personally I think they are despicable. MLK would never have been a republican.

The republicans are up-right walking hypocrisy. Abstinence, lol. I’m not attacking her daughter. We all make mistake, that’s if you see it as a mistake. To say abstinence works even when your conservative values wasn’t able to keep your loved one from getting pregnant is just crazy. They say knowledge is power so empower teenagers with do’s and don’t about sex. So it didn’t work for you but you still preach it to people????? Family values???? The republicans are living in the twilight zone. When I watched the republican convention I thought I was at a nursing home or at a bingo game. Where is the new generation? The republican’s philosophy is relevant to antiquity.
