In a recent speech in Florida, Obama had this to say about John McCain’s plan to privatize some of the social security entitlement program and allow us to invest our own money:
“But if my opponent had his way, the millions of Floridians who rely on it would’ve had their Social Security tied up in the stock market this week.”
I would rather have my own money to invest, even when the stock market is on the decline, then give it to the government who spends it on frivolous porjects and gives me an IOU. (see the sham that is Social Security “Fund”)

An open letter to Mr. Obama,
You are an idiot. You are scaring all the blue hairs with your garbage about McCain’s plan to privatize Social Security. If Social Security was privatized it would be invested in government bonds, not the stock market and it would be insured and it would not have been effected this week with all the financial turmoil. Get your facts straight you moron.
I put my money in railroad stock… (BNI, NSC, KSU, etc) — Solid as a rock and steady growth for the last 5 years. Nearly tripled anything I put in despite any declines in the overall market.
Its the Financial stocks that are in the toilet right now… unfortunately most Mutual Funds were heavy on Financial stocks because they have been traditionally strong growth or stable stocks.
Note that Democrats oppose freedom in Financial Security… no matter what they say about their stance on just about any issue, they are for Government dependence. They should just rename themselves Socialists.
That’s how the Democrats work Steve, they promote a culture of fear…
