“Sen. McCain, why haven’t you hit Obama harder over ACORN?”

That’s a “real journalist”? haha! That lady makes Sean Hannity look like Walter Cronkite.

But, I have to say, I think Biden owned her.

she IS at least a little bit biased – leading questions all over the place. biden spun it to make himself look good, but he didn’t answer the questions. it’s nothing compared to the mainstream media (ie katie couric interviewing sarah palin) and their liberal bias. it’s about time someone swings it the other way, and there is absolutely no reason to restrict freedom of the press over it like the obama campaign has…

Katie Couric and her liberal bias of asking questions of VP’s and actually expecting answers. Geez, if that’s liberal bias I want more of that!

Fox news is the conservative viewpoint. You do not need to make the media more anti-Obama when you have an entire network dedicated to convincing American’s Obama is a terrorist.

Thanks for admitting she is biased, Samantha. But “it’s about time someone swings it the other way?” Have you never heard of Fox News? I’m not begrudging them anything (although Hannity’s obsession with Ayers is getting a little pathetic) nor am I denying a liberal bias at places like MSNBC. I just don’t think it’s as one sided as you make it out to be.

Nor do I think Couric is a good example of liberal bias. Palin hung herself in those interviews. I mean, it wasn’t any bias on Couric’s part that prevented Palin from being able to name a single newspaper she reads nor were there any gotcha questions that caused Palin to ramble on incoherently. These were pretty basic questions that Palin was simply unable to answer. That’s Palin’s fault. Not Couric’s.

  5. Samantha says:

if it wasn’t couric herself and since i don’t think it was 100% palin, it was at least whoever wrote the questions. so what about the reporter who misquoted an editorial and took it out of context to try to catch palin while interviewing her a few weeks ago?

fox news – one network. so yes, other than fox news, it is about time we see someone that went the other way.
abc, cnn, msnbc – the rest of the mainstream media.
at least you can get both sides if you switch between networks…no one is unbiased any more, unfortunately.

here’s an article that’s the most read and most emailed on ABC News right now and was/is buried on the money page rather than on the front page where it belongs… i highly suggest everyone read it.

Yes, I saw that CNN reporter take that New Republic quotes out of context. I can’t say if there was “liberal bias” at play because I don’t know anything about the reporter who asked her the question. But it was horribly irresponsible journalism to say the least.

Back to Couric, I really can’t recall any “gotcha” type questions from Couric. Can you cite some examples of questions Couric asked that you thought were unfair?

I mean, sure, she pressed for answers and as a result Palin looked foolish, but I don’t think that was Couric’s intent. I think asking follow-ups and not letting candidates dodge and weave is what responsible journalists should do.

This will be on her demo tape when she applies for a job at Fox.
