Marquette University Law School is a place on the move. This is true in the most literal sense: the school is building a new physical home that will be the best law school facility in the nation when it is finished. It is also true in a more metaphorical sense as the school ramps up its research efforts, adds a focus on public policy dialogue, and maintains its core commitment to training professionals. All of this, we hope and expect, will make the school move up in the U.S. News rankings, the gold standard (some days the sole standard it seems) for law school quality.

The Marquette University Law School Faculty Blog is an exciting expression of all three of the school’s endeavors: it encourages a community of scholarship among readers, it adds voices and thoughts to the public policy debate, and it serves as an important source of information on legal developments for students and lawyers. I added it to my RSS reader as soon as it had launched in the fall, and have not been disappointed.

Thus, it’s a great pleasure and honor for me to serve as the inaugural “Alumni Blogger of the Month” on the MULS Faculty Blog. You’ll still find all the political commentary you’ve come to expect here on GOP3 I hope, but will some cross-posts sprinkled in from the Faculty Blog. My first post up at the Faculty blog is titled “The Usefulness of Heroes.” Check it out!
