Despite the rain, this summit on fiscal freedom put on by the Americans For Prosperity is PACKED. I can’t find a seat so I am liveblogging on my iPhone, please excuse any errors.

10:17: Joe the Plumber is speaking, great content and he is delivering in a straight forward fashion that I enjoyed last night at the CYPs Happy Hour. He just used my favorite Roosevelt quote, it’s on my facebook

10:24 Milwaukee county executive Scott “the taxcutter” Walker was just announced. He opened with a modification of the famous Bush 9/11 speech line “America will continue to hear from Joe the Plumber”.

10:26 Conservatives don’t need a new message they need a new messenger. Joe the Plumber did a better jab of delivering the low tax message than McCain.

10:28 Walker: we need the 20 million new jobs that Reagan delivered with low taxes.

10:30 Walker just closed with the fact the we can’t let the old billboards “when the last business leaves Wisconsin, turn off the lights”.

10:31 David King from the Milwaukee God Squad is up. We’re insane for electing the Sam people and thinking we are going to get a different result. Too many dinosaurs in charge doing things the old way.

Where is the fairness?!?! “If they pass this mortgage I am not paying my mortgage”.

We have printed more money this year then in the past 70. Inflation is ridiculous.

10:52 J.B. Van Hollen is up! Department of Justice returned 1.2 million dollars to the state budget. His priority is efficient public saftey. Quadrupaled number of cases processed by crime lab. Doyle is trying to cut money for public safety (and give it to teachers unions).

10:55 Doyle wants to release criminals by reducing sentences ( my comment: if he does so he better allow concealed carry so I can defend myself).

10:56 Wow! JB is listing the huge accomplishments of the justice department even after giving money back. WI DOJ will return 200 million dollars of stolen funds and only spend 80 million.

Only Republican state official is being a role model for limited government while still preserving our safety.

Their first poll results: 83% of Wisconsinites want less spending, smaller government.

11:08 Doyle’s budget increases taxes $10 for every $1 dollar spending cut in his current budget. 72% of Wisconsinites disagree with this.

78% strongly opposed to raising taxes.

“You are looking at a Mom on a Mission!”

A mission to save and improve our Wisconsin education system because it means so much to our children and who they will become.

Had all the the kid in the audience stand up, the are learning today and teaching us.

11:14 We can’t tolerate mediocrity, we have one chance! We have lives on the line in the classrooms of Wisconsin!

We need to allow teachers to grow and get merit pay, more training. Need to reward excellence and measure solid outcomes.

We want are kids to excel, we should expect the same from the teachers.

Strong advocate for school choice including charters and teachers choice. Schools should serve children not the system.

Kids who don’t graduate from school fill jails. We need to stop the excuses and challenge everyone to excel!

11:20 We need choice across Wisconsin. Thankful that everyone is paying attention to the race and families across will stand up because the children deserve better. We will do better.

11:25 Dick Patton of the American Family Business Institute is speaking about killing the death tax. Key to defending the American dream as it allows us to pass on the fruits of our labor to our children. Obama wants to make a 45% death tax permenant. Taxes on our small family businesses and farms that provide 57% of the jobs in America.

Karl Marx 10 point agenda, point #3 is to abolish any inheritance. Then the government gets everything and think link between parent and child is broken.

Government should not take our property when we die. “No taxation without respiration!

12:38 Sheriff David Clarke is speaking against Doyle shortsighted plan to shorten sentences and release prisoners to try to save money. The early release will not save money because most of the costs come from administrative employees.

Sheriff Clarke said he will support Doyle’s plan is he included a measure to allow law abiding citizens with permits to carry concealed arms to protect themselves. Exactly what I was saying all last night!! The crow went wild!

Man my iPhone typing thumbs are sore, time for lunch. The afternoon is breakout sessions so I will do my best to get reports from folks who go to them but, I have to go cheer on the Marquette Warriors vs Syracuse!
