After taking closer look at the listening session Rep Gwen Moore (D) threw together last Friday after Gop3.com called out her complete lack of listening sessions compared to the 17 Rep. Paul Ryan (R) has planned, we find it sorely lacking:
1. Rep. Moore will only listen to pre-screened “questions” submitted online.

“Congresswoman Moore will also answer questions that constituents have submitted online on health care reform. Those who plan to attend need to submit their questions online prior to the event. Please e-mail your questions to moorehealthevent@mail.house.gov.”

This is a sham of a listening session, if she pre-screens questions you will end up with only softballs and citizens don’t actually get a chance to speak. This policy forces citizens whose questions have been screened to shout and therefore perpetuate the “angry mob” stereotype that the Democrats are promoting to undermine their opposition.

2.  If you have any questions that this was hastily thrown together rather then well planned like Rep Ryan’s and Sensenbrenner’s events, look at the invited guest:

“A representative from the University of Wisconsin is expected to be on hand to give a non-partisan, informational presentation on the bill’s specifics.”

Who is this mystery guest from Madison? If this was well planned they would have a real person’s name on the announcement.  This is an attempt to make up for her poor planning and lack of willingness to listen.  Many Democrats don’t care what their constituents have to say, they believe they know whats best for them, let’s hope this is not the case with Rep Gwen Moore.

If Representative Moore really wants to represent her district and have a valuable, open listening session, she needs to allow questions live from the concerned citizens gathered and take their opinions back to Washington in the form of her vote, regardless of her party.

    My email to Gwen Moore:

    Dear Congresswoman Moore,

Here are my questions for the info session, thank you for scheduling it:
    1. If this is such a great plan, why did you (Congress) opt out of it
    when you took the vote?

    2. If you look at the long lines at the DMV, the inefficiency of the IRS, or most other
government-provided services in this country (excluding natural monopolies like fire, police and military), why should we believe government healthcare will be any less of a pain to the populace?

    3. The New York Times recently reported, with supporting evidence from
the Medicare administration, that over one third of the charges and
reimbursements paid out were fraudulent, how would the Obama
Socialized Healthcare Plan prevent this wasteful spending of taxpayer
    dollars?

    Thank you for your time,
    Brandon

I don’t support government healthcare, but I do support the fire department, police department, sanitation department, and the awesome job they all do to keep us safe, protected, orderly, and clean…and they are all government provided services.

  2. [...] This is why Gwen Moore is literally the worst congressperson EVER [...]

    Allie,

I would have to agree with you on Fire and Police protection, as well as the Military, I should rephrase my question (and will).

I think fire, police and military are natural monopoly situations that are best served by the government whereas, I do not believe healthcare is a natural monopoly. The healthcare functions best when private companies, doctors and hospitals compete to do the best job they can for us.
    Thanks for your comment!

Agreed. And I think your new question is much more appropriate, although I still think that you are using “failure” to communicate your own opinion. The DMV and the IRS are not failures. They fulfill the purpose they were designed for, just not very well.

My point is that if you are honestly trying to submit Senator Moore a question and you want it taken seriously, you need to phrase it in a way that does not show blatant bias. If your intention is only to post your ideas and view points, go ahead and say so in the way you chose. However, don’t be surprised when your loaded questions are ignored in a public forum.

    Allie,

I truly have no idea whom you are but you seem intelligent enough to respond to questions with questions so I consider you a formidable ally or foe depending on the situation. I want to have the Health Care system fixed but with an American Capitalistic Plan. Healthcare Insurance companies are our problem along with the lawyers that do not stop when deep inside they feel that pang that we all have that we are doing something wrong. We the American people think that you and all those that fall under my meaning of “YOU” know that this is the problem as well as we yet you will not tackle it. The only reasons that someone will not persue an agenda that is as obvious as this is Fear or Greed! Please tell us what it is and stop pretending that you are better or more intelligent!
    Thank You for your Time.
    Denton Howard.
