Reason I Wish WI was More Like TX #9,991: Sen Big John Cornyn

Daniel, my fellow Gop3.com blogger, passed this along and I had to share it.

And of course he won with an ad like that and (what sounds like) Fred Thompson narrating.

“In 2008, Texans overwhelmingly re-elected Senator John Cornyn to represent them for a second six-year term in the U.S. Senate. Sen. Cornyn was first elected to the Senate in 2002 and previously served in Texas as a district judge, a member of the Texas Supreme Court, and as Texas Attorney General.”

As the Republicans stand up alone in this financial mess we are in, you can’t help but compare them to Big John in this section of the Original Johnny Cash song:

“Then came the day at the bottom of the mine,

Miners were praying, and hearts beat fast and everybody thought they had breathed thier last cept’ John.
Through the dust and the smoke of this man made hell,

Let’s hope he and the Republicans can continue to stand strong alone against the tide of higher taxes and big spending and not get buried like John does in the end of the song.
